Feeling a little offended !Hi guys
Well, I don't know if I'm just over sensitive here, but my best friend had her little baby last year Sept. Since then, it seems she can make time for all her other friends, but I'm only good enough for baby advice (I'm one of the only friends with a kid she's really close too ) . A few weeks back her little man was in hospital as he was struggling to breathe and got lots of antibiotics. So after he got out of hospital, he got a light ear infection, so she called me to ask what I would recommend, as she knows Alex gets an ear infection sometimes when teething and she doesn't want him on more meds. So I suggested some ear drops and something like sisterlillian earcare tablets, as that is what I used with Alex. So after that he gets horribly sick again, and green goo comes from his eyes. So she calls me again. As I never sawor heard about something like that, I said it's best to take him past the pharmacy (since she didn't want to take him to the doc) and hear if they think she sould take him to hospital.. So she decides to ignore that , and the next day I hear she told another mutaul friend that she's mad that I couldn't help her with an answer. So yesterday, she send me a msg to ask if I thought a walker helped Alex to walk faster (he didn't have one , as he started walking at 10months without one), as she is thinking about getting one for her son so he can walk for his 1st birthday and she doesn't want to spend money if its not needed . (Her hubby lost his job 3months ago and they are struggling a little financially, and she's having a huge party for his 1st borthday ) So I replied and told her Alex didn't use one, but if he uses it at the daymother most of the day, she really doesn't need one at home at this stage (as he's at the daymom until 6 every day , and personally I think when money tight you don't really need all the luxeries) So again, now I hear she told the friend that she thinks I was mean for telling her I think she doesn't need one.. Just tired that I'm only good enough now when she needs baby advice, and when I do suggest something, its not good enough ! I just felt money is so tight, as she now has to pay for the rent, cars , all the baby stuff and groeceries, as well as child support for his 2 other kids.. If things are tough you don't spend money on things except if you REALLY need it.
Re: Feeling a little offended !Shame, I can understand why you would be feeling a bit offended because I would be too if someone did that too me. Unfortunately I am generally a bit of a 'door mat' as they say and I would just vent about it to my DH and do nothing so don't even really know what you could do to try and help the situation. I'm sorry she is doing this to you, maybe it is because she is insecure about her decisions and feels that by saying that about you she feels better - who knows why some people do what they do!
Re: Feeling a little offended !She sounds a little envies of you...also maybe a little insecure.
Maybe as her upfront what the issue is and you guys can work on it from there.
Re: Feeling a little offended !
I agree! She sounds a bit jealous. Just know that you did your best with her in trying to help her.
Re: Feeling a little offended !GL u really have some STRANGE friends
Re: Feeling a little offended !
Yup, I think you just need to be happy with knowing you did all you could. What she chooses to do has nothing to do with you and don't let it bother you.
Re: Feeling a little offended !Oi, if she is going to have a fit whenever you tell her something she does not want to hear then I would stop answering her questions if I was you. Good luck!
Re: Feeling a little offended !Ag, I also have friends like that who only know you when they need you. I keep my distance
