Fudgy Pecan Pie

1 unbaked pie crust
400g sweetened condensed milk
2 eggs, well beaten
½ cup pecan pieces
1 ½ cups whole pecans
½ cup hot water
50g chocolate
¼ cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt

1) Pre-heat oven to 180 °C.
2) In a saucepan over low heat, carefully melt chocolate and butter until smoothly blended.
3) Stir in milk, hot water, and eggs; mix well.
4) Remove from heat; stir in pecan pieces, vanilla, and salt.
5) Pour into the pie crust, and top with whole pecans.
6) Bake for 40 minutes or until centre is set. Cool on a wire rack.
7) Serve pie warm or chilled. Store covered in refrigerator.
