Oriental Steak Salad


1 small flank steak
500ml fresh asparagus, cut into 2″ pieces
1 large broccoli floret
100ml soy sauce
125ml white vinegar
15 ml sesame oil
10ml sesame seeds
1 normal sized ginger, peeled and grated
5ml sugar
Dash of white pepper

1) Pan fry the steak until cooked, then set aside to cool.
2) Blanche the asparagus in boiling salted water for half a minute, then remove and cool.
3) Repeat this process with the broccoli.
4) Mix the rest of the ingredients excluding sesame seeds to make the dressing.
5) Toss beef with dressing, and then gently stir in asparagus and broccoli and serve at room temperature on a bed of salad leaves, with sesame seeds sprinkled over the top.
