250ml cake flour
1 egg
125 milk
5ml baking powder
2ml salt
125ml oil (for frying)

1) Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
2) Beat the egg separately and then add to flour.
3) Add milk and mix until smooth.
4) Heat the oil in a frying pan and drop in a tablespoon of the mixture. Don’t make more than four at a time.
5) Fry for two to three minutes on one side, then turn and fry for one minute on other side.
6) Serve hot filled with your choice of filling, such as curry or savoury minced meat, cheese, or jam.
